Susan Kennedy has over 15 years of marketing leadership experience in the high technology industry at companies including TouchStone Software, Phoenix Technologies, Conner Peripherals (Archive Corporation), and Fifth Generation Systems (Symantec Corp.). She specializes in taking very complex technologies and concepts and developing them into easy to use, simple solutions that meet the needs of the target customer.

By developing highly effective messaging, appropriate positioning, and distribution channels, she and her teams have taken a number of products from launch, to number one positions in their categories, many winning coveted
Editors’ Choice awards.

A few of these products include:·
  • PC-cillin Anti-Virus (TouchStone Software)
  • CheckIt Diagnostic (TouchStone Software)
  • Archive Python DAT drive (ARDAT/Conner Peripherals)
  • FastBack Plus (Fifth Generation Systems/Symantec Corp.)
  • Suitcase II, (Fifth Generation Systems/Symantec Corp.)

Susan thrives on the product and positioning challenges that it takes to develop a compelling product solution that truly meets the needs of the customers. Since addressing hard business realities often make the difference between winners and losers, Susan has led numerous senior executive teams in conducting that “honest” assessment of the company’s technology, its internal resources, the needs of the customer, and the competitive landscape. When a viable solution does exist (or can be developed), Susan will passionately drive the team to effectively position the solution, and develop the messaging that will set it apart from the competition.

With the ability to quickly communicate benefits that “talk to the customer” in packaging, collateral, ads, press releases, and investor relations, Susan is known for her ability to generate “buzz” within the press, analyst, and customer communities, with winning technology products and solutions.

In addition to her corporate marketing experience, Susan has been involved in two start-up companies. The first, Rememory Corporation, was successfully sold to Stac, Inc. in 1994, its backup software product line becoming the flagship product for Stacs backup line, Replica. At Susan’s most recent startup, Enhanced Simulation Technologies, she and her co-founder partner developed, patented, and launched a revolutionary new speech recognition enabled aviation training software product. The company is an on going concern and is currently in licensing discussions with several large airlines as well
as the FAA.

A graduate of the University of California at Davis, Susan holds undergraduate degrees in both Economics and International Relations.
